Project Give’s Javier Rodriguez was at St. John the Evangelist Middle school today to kick of Project Give today. The program there will be held during school hours and on Saturdays will be open to the middle school aged youth who attend the local parish. During the presentation many of them presented unique ideas that they had to make their community a better place. Despite their age they have big dreams for the success they can achieve. Their enthusiasm to get started was incredible and we can’t wait to see what these future leaders come up with to make their community and the world a better place!!!

Daytona Middle School – Project GIVE 2009 0

Sep1

We held our first meeting today at Daytona middle School..They finally came up with the idea that for years the school has been planning to build an outdoor Volleyball court and every year money falls through the ground … the site sits right next to the batting cages they built with the wrong materials and for 2 years have sat in disrepair.

So the idea is to take that whole area and start with fixing the batting cages and having a re-grand opening of them and inviting all the kids to come and try them..

During the grand opening of the batting cages they had several ideas on fundraising that day and will be inviting the Mayor, the school Board President, and other local dignitaries at which time the kids will give a presentation and an offer to partner up with us to see this goal completed. Also they are all thinking who can help with this. I gave each of them an assignment to find the name, email and phone number of someone who we want to help us. (Like the Mayor, the chamber President, and so on.)

They were really excited and are working on our mission statement and more ideas to keep this going and how to get more kids involved.
